“Stronger Families. Stronger Communities.

During the 2011 Manitoba Provincial Election, I served as the Digital Media Director, where my responsibilities were diverse and hands-on. My role involved handling media relations with our team, setting up and managing campaign events, and handling event photography.

Starting from scratch, I established and managed the MLP’s social media properties, connecting with a wider online audience, while ensuring a cohesive online advertising strategy. I also balanced various tasks to effectively address all aspects of media and public engagement in a dynamic campaign environment.

I remember we paid extra for a FlexFuel rental for the campaign, and in only ten years, we have electric cars. Wild. #GettingOld

Putting it lightly—the election results were not what we had hoped for. Still, this experience was a significant learning opportunity, providing valuable lessons in communications and nimble campaign strategy that continue to inform my approach.
